Decoding Dyslexia CA and The Reading League Join Forces to Improve Literacy

Decoding Dyslexia CA and The Reading League are combining ongoing efforts to change the literacy research-to-practice pipeline in our public schools.

Decoding Dyslexia CA (DDCA) and The Reading League (TRL) announced today the decision to become Alliance Partners. DDCA and TRL have a shared mission to raise awareness, increase the understanding and the use of evidence-based reading instruction that benefits, not only our students with dyslexia but all readers.

“We have been following the amazing educator-focused, web-based resources that TRL has created for some time now. Since the issuance of the CA dyslexia guidelines, DDCA has been working diligently with public school districts interested in establishing best practices in literacy. TRL is producing relevant, accessible content for educators created by some of the top literacy experts in the country,” states Tobie Meyer, DDCA State Director. “We feel it is imperative that DDCA help connects the California community with the extensive knowledge base created by TRL to bridge the gap that exists today between knowledge and practice.”

“The Reading League is an organization comprised of a diverse group of professionals, all having a desire to improve reading outcomes for children and adults,” states Maria Murray, CEO, and Founder of TRL. “We know what works to teach reading as a result of decades of research from a number of fields.
